Check out some videos & animations we’ve created about our lab’s research!

Closing out March Madness with this slam dunk from the Stem Cell Program team at Boston Children's Hospital! Watch to see how stem cell research saves lives.

The team of Dr. Leonard Zon and Dr. Charles Kauffman have determined how a melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer, develops from a single melanocyte. The results have been published in the scientific journal, Science. In addition to the article, we created an animation to present the results to a general audience as well as an extended version to be used in scientific presentations.

When a patient receives a bone marrow transplant, the transplanted blood stem cells find their home, begin dividing and establish themselves in the body much like natural blood stem cells do. Our paper in Cell shows how blood stem cells migrate and engraft their niche. This zebrafish animation illustrates findings that reveal this natural process for the first time, providing clues that will help scientists improve bone marrow transplants.

Len speaks at the TEDxLongwood event! Imagine being able to reprogram the cells from a piece of skin and transform them into cells that can make all of the tissues in your body. These stem cells are changing the world of regenerative medicine.
